Through our global partnerships, Voluntours(sm) meets the increasing demand for volunteer service opportunities in the United States and internationally. Over 500,000 Americans Volunteered Internationally in 1999, the industry in the United States is rated at over $50 billion dollars annually, both these numbers are growing dramatically. Conde Naste Traveler magazine just named San Diego as one of the top 10 most desirable places to visit. The San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau reports that 26.5 million visitors spent over $5.1 billion in 1999, Voluntours(sm) will serve a growing segment of this business. San Diego is also an ideal foundation for Voluntours(sm) as it provides cross-border opportunities in two distinct markets - the United States & Mexico.

Voluntours(sm) activities will be planned and orchestrated by San Diego Cares, a non-profit affiliate of the international volunteer planning organization City cares. San Diego Cares will recruit, educate, and coordinate Voluntour activities for a variety of community service projects in the San Diego & Tijuana/Baja region. Voluntours(sm) will also plan and implement strategic partnerships with associations, corporations, and organizations to develop customized Voluntour(sm) packages for convention attendees, incentive, team-building and other business travel to the region.


Voluntours(sm) Packages for Individual Travelers, Families & Vacationers to the San Diego/Baja Region will roll-out in Summer 2001.
